CaptionPro AI · Privacy Policy and Terms of Use

Effective date: [DD Month YYYY] · Last updated: [DD Month YYYY]

This page covers the tools offered by [Your brand / company name] (“we”, “us”) in the CaptionPro AI app and website: CaptionPro AI (automatic captions, subtitles and video editing), AI Voice Studio (text-to-speech with AI voices), Audio Editor (silence cutting and audio clean-up), AI Dubbing (translating and re-voicing speech), Logo Remover and Background Remover. Together we call them the “Services”.

In short: you must be 18 or older and sign in to use the Services. Your files are used only to do the job you ask for. Your caption projects stay on your own phone or browser. The free plan shows ads that you choose to watch. Voices and dubbing results are kept for at most 24 hours and then deleted automatically. We keep no long-term history, we do not sell your personal data, and we do not show advertising based on your content. You must have the right to use any content you upload.

The microphone is used only if you choose to record a voice-over, and only while you record. Files on your phone are accessed only when you choose them.

2. How your content is processed

Our server only passes your request to the provider and returns the answer. Audio, and sometimes video, travels to our server only for the time the job takes. When the result has come back to your phone, the uploaded file is deleted from our server. We do not keep it. Providers act as processors for the specific task and handle data under their own terms. We do not allow them to use your content for advertising.

3. How we use data

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your uploaded content to train our own AI models. We do not use it for advertising.

4. Where your results are stored

5. Service providers and sharing

To run the Services we use trusted third-party providers for: speech-to-text, AI language processing, voice synthesis, cloud hosting, content delivery and security, temporary file storage, and fonts and software libraries delivered over the internet. When a font or library is loaded from a provider’s network, that provider can see your IP address and browser details, as with any website. These providers may process data in other countries, including outside India. We choose providers carefully, but we do not control their policies. We share data only as needed to deliver the feature you asked for, to follow the law, or to protect the Services and users from abuse. We do not sell or rent your personal data.

[If you add analytics, ads or a payment provider, describe it here, or delete this note.]

5A. Ads (free plan)

The free plan shows ads served by Google. Google and its partners may use cookies, device identifiers and similar technologies to show and measure ads. Ads are “rewarded”: they start only after you tap “Watch ad”, every ad screen says “Advertisement”, and the reward (your captions or your video) is given when you have watched the ad to the end. We never ask you to click an ad, and you must never click ads on purpose or ask others to.

Before your first ad we ask you to choose personalised or non-personalised ads. You see the same number of ads either way. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, only non-personalised ads are used. You can change your choice by clearing the site or app data, and you can manage ad personalisation in your Google account settings. Premium plans show fewer ads.

6. Cookies and similar storage

We use browser and app storage that the Services need to work: your sign-in session, settings, saved projects and your ad choice. Ad partners may set their own cookies, as described in section 5A. [If you add analytics or ads, describe them and how to opt out.] You can clear this storage at any time in your browser or phone settings.

7. Retention

8. Your rights and deleting your data

You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us to stop using it, by writing to the address in Contact. Because projects are stored on your device, you can delete them yourself at any time from inside the app, by clearing the app’s data, or by uninstalling it. How to delete your account is explained in Data deletion.

India: under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may access, correct and erase your data, nominate someone to exercise your rights, and complain to us and then to the Data Protection Board. European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland: we process your data to perform our contract with you, for our legitimate interest in running and securing the Services, to meet legal duties, and, for personalised ads, only with your consent (which we do not use in these regions). You have the rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and objection, and may complain to your local data-protection authority. Data may be processed outside your country, including in India and the United States, under standard safeguards used by our providers. United States (including California and other states with privacy laws): we do not sell your personal data. Ad partners may “share” identifiers for advertising only if you choose personalised ads; choosing non-personalised ads switches this off. You may ask us to know, correct or delete your data, and we will not treat you differently for doing so.

9. Children

The Services are for people aged 18 or older. You confirm this when you create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

Connections use HTTPS. Secret keys are kept on our servers, never inside the app. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The “last updated” date above will change, and for important changes we will give notice in the Services.

Part 2 · Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

By using the Services you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

1A. Age and account

Temporary email addresses are not allowed, one person should not run many free accounts, and we may block accounts that abuse the free plan. Keep your login safe: you are responsible for what happens under your account.

2. What the Services do

The Services use artificial intelligence to transcribe speech, create captions, edit audio and video, translate, generate voices, and remove logos or backgrounds. AI output can be wrong, incomplete or badly timed, and speech may be misheard, especially in songs, noisy audio and less common languages. You are responsible for checking every caption, translation, generated voice and edited result before you publish it.

3. Your content and your rights

4. AI-generated voices and dubbing

5. AI-generated content and transparency

6. Logo Remover and Background Remover

7. Acceptable use

You will not: break the law; upload content that is illegal or that exploits or endangers children; try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the Services; bypass credits or limits; use automated tools to send large numbers of requests; copy or resell the Services; or use them to build a competing product.

8. Credits, fees and refunds

We may change limits, prices and free features, with notice in the Services.

9. Availability and changes

The Services depend on other providers and on your device and internet connection. We do not promise that they will always be available or error-free. We may change, pause or stop any feature. Keep your own copies of important work.

10. Intellectual property

The Services, including software, design, names and logos, belong to us or our licensors. These Terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use them. Fonts, models and software libraries used in the Services are open-source or licensed, and may carry their own licences. Third-party names that may appear in the Services belong to their owners; we are not affiliated with or endorsed by them.

11. Copyright complaints

If you believe content processed through the Services infringes your rights, write to us at the address below with details of the work and where the problem is. We will review it and take suitable action, which may include removing content or limiting an account.

12. Disclaimer and limit of liability

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, lost profit, or any harm from content you create or publish. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or [INR 1,000] if you paid nothing. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Ending use

You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or end access if you break these Terms or misuse the Services.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at [your city, state] have jurisdiction, unless the law gives you the right to go to court elsewhere.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept it.

Data deletion

To delete your account and the data we hold about you (account record, credit and usage records), email [support@yourdomain.com] from the email address you signed in with, with the subject “Delete my data”. We will confirm and delete it within 30 days. Payment records may be kept for as long as the law requires for accounting. Files and projects saved on your own phone are not on our servers: delete them in the app, by clearing the app’s data, or by uninstalling.
